We host an event on the last Friday or Saturday of each month (with the occasional exception). This ranges from events in our building, such as our tracks and trails event, to walks out and about around the local area to see what wildlife we can find. We also hold three 'event weeks' through the year, so keep your eyes out for information regarding these coming soon.

This will be led by our trustee Danny White, a local ecologist with a passion for reptiles and amphibians. The walk will predominantly be along a tarmac path, pram friendly. We have laid reptile mats out already and, weather permitting, have a good chance to see slow worms, common lizard, and maybe even adder.
10:45 - Welcome to our Woods - Crop Cycle, 111b Bute St, Treherbert, Treorchy CF42 5PA. A chance to grab a tea or coffee, probably cake as well, and hear about one of our key partnerships in the upper Rhondda area who do some truly fantastic work.
12:30 - Lunch - Gwynant, top of Dumfries Street, Treherbert, CF42 5PP. Please bring your own lunch and feel free to join us at Gwynant or enjoy the local woodlands.

19:30 - Moth trap - Gwynant, top of Dumfries Street, Treherbert, CF42 5PP - We will be demonstrating how to set up a moth trap, what you need to consider in advance, and why moths can be an important group of animals to consider.
20:45 - Bats and Owls walk - meet at Treherbert train station, Station street, Treherbert, Treorchy CF42 5HU - Alex will be demonstrating how to use bat detectors, what we are looking/listening for, and the role bats play in the ecosystem. We will also be stopping to use a playback of owl calls to see if any owls will respond to it.
Overnight accommodation is available on a first come first served basis, please let us know if you require this.
Sunday 18th May
08:30 - Birdsong walk - meet at Treherbert train station, Station street, Treherbert, Treorchy CF42 5HU - Rob will be leading a walk along the footpath in the woods listening to and identifying some of the birds that will be singing. 10:30-15:30 October 12th
Autumn Renewal
Christian Day Retreat
Meet with God through spending time in His Creation. After contemplative worship and a time of prayer, enjoy a slow paced guided walk through the stunning woodlands surrounding Treherbert, including the protected Cwm Saebren woods, where we will highlight features associated with our conservation efforts. This is a chance to slow down and experience the majesty of God's Creation.
The walk itself is approximately 6km in length and is of moderate difficulty as some paths are uneven and there are occasions of reasonable incline. Suitable footwear is essential, and waterproofs are highly recommended.
Light refreshments will be provided, and facilities are available at Gwynant, which will be our start and end point. Please bring a packed lunch with you.
Following the day, you are welcome to spend time exploring the library at Gwynant with an array of books on nature, science, and Christianity.
All this is only £10. BOOK HERE!
We have 12 spaces available and once booked a confirmation email will be sent with details regarding payment.
